Another Step

Busy as bees, we paint and we paint and we paint. The clock is ticking, with the Sander coming soon to refinish the floor. Thanks to the good work the Goshen May Term group did (shout out to Cait!), our work was quick and smooth.


As the bright YELLOW started seeping into our spirits, a little "play" made the work fun.







And here it is with the new floor! Perhaps you are as surprised as we are that the room looks so good!

The Calypso that Graces our Marsh

I just learned of a place where they language they speak has no possessive, no word for "my." I caught myself, about to label this as "Our Calypso." Hence, the blessing and grace that it is...


And the photographs emerge. Here is the darling Calypso I found, just east of the Swamp Walk. I was so excited to see the little booger that I took nearly half a roll of film to try to capture it. Not sure how successful I was, but you get the gist. Wish you all could be here to see it for yourselves!

Here I am! Entering the world of "techy" at a new level! Mostly, I want to share pictures and things with more people more easily... so, we'll give this a try. (And see how long it lasts.)

This is a photo of a Calypso (Fairy Slipper) orchid (Calypso bulbosa), which I found while exploring down near the marsh walk at Base Camp. Its a real charmer! I'll soon be putting up pictures of the one I actually found...

The highlight of the day today was that Mary Ruth and I went in town for the SunSplash canoe/kayak sale, where we tried out every kind of kayak that exists. It was amazing! And perhaps will lead to more kayaking excursions in the future. Ojala...
